Letter from the President

Dear JWC family and friends,

Welcome to 2021 and happy New Year to you! Thank you for your kind and gracious words of encouragement, prayers and support for the students and ministry of John Witherspoon College!

The spring semester begins next Monday, January 11. There is still room and time this week if you would like to register for a class. You can find the spring course schedule on the College Website at jwc.edu or you may call the College at 605-342-0317. We look forward to hearing from you.

In this new year, your prayers are greatly needed and appreciated for the following requests:

• For the students, faculty and staff and their families to remain healthy throughout this spring semester so that we may have another successful and fruitful term.
• For the funding needed to provide for the courses and mentoring to the students so they may receive a Christ-centered, classical education in the Humanities and Christian Studies programs.
• For God to provide for the students and the College each month during the remainder of this academic year.
• For wise and prudent planning by the faculty, staff, and Board of Trustees as they meet in February to update the College Future Focus 2025 Strategic Plan and Budget for the next five years.
• For the work of the JWC Self Study team and successful completion of the Self Study toward renewal of accreditation with Transnational Association of Christian Colleges and Schools. A TRACS evaluation team plans to visit JWC for several days in May or June. If granted renewal, the accreditation would be good for ten years.

Please let us know how we might pray for you.

And this is the confidence that we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will he hears us. And if we know that he hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests that we have asked of him (1 John 5:14-15 ESV).

Again, thank you for your prayers and partnership with us in providing Christ-centered classical education for service to the church and the world.
