September 2023 Fidelis
Letter from the President
Dear JWC family and friends,
As we enter September, we stand at the conclusion of a rather full summer and at the beginning of a new academic semester. It has been – to put it mildly – a busy time for John Witherspoon College. This summer saw the often troubled but ultimately beautiful move to our new campus. It was a blessing for the school, and we are excited to show our new campus at our Fall Convocation and at upcoming open houses (see below) and other events. But with change comes trials as well: moving expenses, additional operational costs, and the need for renewed advertising and signage. This is the nature of change… benefits but also labor and the need to keep moving forward.
The need to keep moving forward is the clarion call for our students as well. As we start a new semester, we know that there will be struggle and labor, but we also know that the end is one of blessing and growth. We have rigorous standards, but that leads to more rewarding victories.
Struggle, change, and the unexpected have marked both the summer and the beginning of the new semester. Times of change can be overwhelming, so it is useful at such times to consider what does not change: God’s faithfulness and power working things for good to those who love him (Romans 8:28). And just as he is faithful to us, we commit to remain steadfast and unchanging in our own calling: to provide excellent Christian education that will enrich not only our students, but the region and the world.
“Now may the God of peace who brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, the great shepherd of the sheep, by the blood of the eternal covenant, equip you with everything good that you may do his will, working in us that which is pleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen.” (Hebrews 13:20-21 ESV)
The move is done, our storage unit is empty, and our new campus opened just in time for the New Student Orientation and Fall Semester. We invite you to take a tour of the new campus at our OPEN HOUSE on Thursday, September 28, from 4:00-8:00pm. In addition to the tours, we will have a silent auction, 15-minute "mini" classes throughout the Open House, and a presentation from Operation Christmas Child at 7:00pm.
Here's a sneak peak at the campus!
See you at the Open House on September 28th!

Thank You, Journey Church!
John Witherspoon College is so thankful for the many parting gifts we received from the Journey Church as they moved to their new church home (including these beautiful flowers!). Our greatest immediate need was chairs--and the morning we planned to order them, Pastor James Moore dropped by our campus and gave us 118 gray chairs for the sanctuary, 41 burgundy chairs for the classrooms, and an extra 24 black chairs. This gifts saved us thousands of dollars and we are so grateful. Journey Church also gave us their sound board, router, refrigerator, water dispenser, coffee table with 3 chairs, decorations and more. We praise God for His provision and perfect timing!
Please share with others about JWC!
